How to create a publishing template in Smart Content Designer

Product: Quark Publishing Platform (QPP) NextGen, QuarkXPress

There are two ways you can create a publishing template in Smart Content Designer:
  1. Create a blank QuarkXPress project in QuarkXPress and start building the template from scratch by adding regions and elements, followed by deciding their position and defining their styles.
  2. Import a reference document (for example, a PDF file) to QuarkXPress, convert the elements in the reference document into native QuarkXPress objects, and then manage their placement and styling (as you would when building the template from scratch).
